Matron(ion) - проект из Великобритании, за которым стоит неутомимый Vitamin.D.D.Fish In Sea из 6Needles и plushandplastix. На этот раз в поле притяжения оказалась его верная боевая подруга Линзи (Linzi Haynes), которая исполняет здесь вокальные партии. Дэнни (Danny Lee Tunstill) играет на всех инструментах. Треки, вошедшие в All We Are, записаны в домашних условиях с помощью минимального набора технических средств и инструментов: барабанная установка, гитара, бас, микрофон и 8-канальный tascam. У Линзи это был первый опыт работы с микрофоном и записью вокала! Экспериментальной целью являлась своеобразная попытка добиться натурального, сырого звучания и реконструировать те условия, в которых музыка записывалась в старые добрые психоделические времена.
Песни были написаны практически в реальном времени - в процессе записи треков - и действительно очень созвучны кипучему и дремучему духу 70-х! В финале альбома символично и призывно звучит кавер на революционно известную песню Джона Леннона и группы Битлз "Come Together". Так держать!

"I think the concept with Matron was just using the basic equipment we had to hand and not sequencing or using a computer..the drums were all recorded on the one microphone we own and the instrumentation is just bass and guitar for the most part recorded in full passes and not edited or 'copy and pasted' to try and get an old fashioned feel in the style of a traditional psychedelic band from simpler times..we used an old digital tascam 8 track to try to keep things basic. i suppose it was an experiment in seeing what could be achieved with time constraints and limited equipment..There isn't really ever an agenda with the songs, just grasping desperately at whatever essence falls out of the head or the instrument at that moment in time and capturing it sort of like the ghostbusters trapping a spirit or someone awkwardly handling an imaginary jelly fish haha! The tunes are usually simple, making best use of the short time we have to make the music at the moment and the dwindling skills due to lack of practice hehe!!.. It's been good to record Linzi as she has always sung but has never ever recorded or even used a microphone before so it was fun and frustrating for her in equal measure i think..I'm pretty happy with how the tunes turned out all things considered!"
